about
Northern Irish rock act Diamir unveil debut single 'Behind the Façade'. A glimpse into a mind that has gone over the edge and is not coming back.
Listeners are offered a heavy, energetic and riff packed modern throwback to the Rockabilly style of the 1950s, replete with bluesy guitar and organ solos. The track features multi-layered vocal harmonies reminiscent of early Queen records and is textured with various elements from hand claps to gunshots, radio chatter and police sirens. This all works together to elevate the clean, highly dynamic lead vocals, which are delivered with a controlled intensity throughout.

Behind The Façade (Lyrics)
Another moment, another betrayal,
Another traitor, you never can tell,
You give your life, your declining soul
But they just cut and run
Suppress the anger, lock it up inside,
Who will remain - be it Jekyll or Hyde?
You stand there seething but just smiling away,
Humility is at bay
But then, when alone in the night
It comes to you in a flash,
That try and try as you might,
They will always…
Cut you, kick you, kill you
And tear you up inside,
Cuz you’re there to be used and abused - don’t you see it?
Punch you, push you, pull you
And rob you of all of your joy,
Cuz it’s them - and it’s you
And for now you’re just a broken toy
To break the habit, what can you do?
You try to change but you’re thinking askew,
To make them see the error of their ways?
This burden on you weighs
Thoughts of hurting them begin to gestate,
To make them suffer would attempt to placate,
Will you cross the line and into the fray?
Once you get there, forever you’ll stay
So, time to choose…live or die?
Perpetuate this lie?
To confront, or to refrain? (cuz you know they’ll always)
Burn you, bleed you, bruise you,
Oooh tear you up inside,
Cuz they see you as a means to an end - that’s all, they’ll
Shoot you, gut you, hang you,
And cut you out of the deal,
And the harder you try, the more you know that they don’t care how you feel
Cut you, kick you, kill you
And tear you up inside,
Cuz you’re there to be used and abused - don’t you see it?
Punch you, push you, pull you
And cut you out of the deal,
And now the trumpeters have called,
Open the seventh seal.
